August 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of US women’s right to vote, accomplished through the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. In recognition of this milestone and in furtherance of women’s equality, the Board directed Administration to develop a strategic plan to protect and honor women’s suffrage. In response, and with further direction from the Children, Seniors, and Families Committee, Administration developed recommendations for a Women’s Equality 2020 Leadership Council.
The Women’s Equality 2020 Leadership Council will meet from August 2018 through December 2020 to assist in the County’s efforts to commemorate and honor the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage, help ensure a complete census count and broad electoral participation in 2020, and advance women’s equality.

Thank you to those who joined WE2020 at the Kick Off to Women's Right to Vote March & Rally. The community turned out to Honor the Past and wore white which looked great for the March & Rally. We were inspired by the words of community leaders and soapbox speakers.
To support the efforts of the Women's Equality 2020 Leadership Council, the Office of Women's Policy co-chaired the following four work groups in partnership with:
